Hansgrohe AG and head chemist Andreas Fath receive the UMSICHT Science Award 2011
On Wednesday 6 July 2011, Hansgrohe AG and Hansgrohe’s head chemist Dr. Andreas Fath received the prestigious UMSICHT Science Award, awarded annually by the Friends of the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology. The prize was awarded for eco-friendly filter technology developed by the Black Forest mixer and shower specialist, which drastically reduces pollution in waste water from electroplating.
“We hope that our technology will become widely adopted within a few years. It could be an important building block for water and environmental protection in industrial regions”, emphasised Andreas Fath, inventor of the pioneering process, at the award ceremony at the Oberhausener Science Forum (Oberhausener Wirtschaftsforum).
