Student halls in Hanover

Save water by reusing it

Save water, reduce operating costs and protect the environment – this is the promise made by the Hansgrohe grey water recycling system. In Hanover, a student halls of residence has been cleverly redeveloped using this technology: recycled grey water from bathrooms is used in the toilets, saving precious drinking water.

The Pontos AquaCycle 4500 installed in this residence for 76 people, uses a treatment process that does not involve the addition of chemicals to treat water from showers and wash basins, preparing it for a second use: for flushing toilets. If the amount of water supplied is insufficient, fresh water is mixed in so that the supply to toilets is not interrupted.

Hansgrohe’s patented process ensures consistently high water quality that complies with the hygiene requirements of the EU Bathing Water Directive.
