Hansgrohe United Kingdom

London, March 2009. At Ecobuild, Hansgrohe the shower and bathroom specialist will breakout their latest brochure ‘EcoSmart’. Throughout the company’s history, green issues have been at the heart of the business and several product innovations have been produced to save water in the bathroom and even recycle it, in the case of the unique Pontos AquaCycle grey-water recycling system. Despite this, green credentials have taken a relative back seat within the Hansgrohe literature portfolio -eco-conscious consumers would have to look carefully through general product brochures in order to pinpoint some of the ingenious technologies to appeal to their values.

Now for the first time, the EcoSmart brochure pulls everything together into 28 pages that describe Hansgrohe’s green manufacturing and management processes, energy and water-saving products and the Company’s philosophy in general towards the environment and the crucial topic of treating water as a precious resource.

More Pleasure, Less Consumption is the mantra at Hansgrohe. This is achieved by the technicians at the spray mode laboratory who perfect new technologies such as AirPower and EcoSmart for showers and taps. These ensure that the products use less water but also deliver better performance and thus a more enjoyable experience compared to more water thirsty models.

No compromise on performance and the same when it comes to design. The brochure also illustrates how the most prestigious designer-labels from the Axor brand can still be eco-conscious. Examples include water-saving taps and showers from the celebrated French designer, Philippe Starck, within the Axor Starck collections.

Sustainability is an ethos at Hansgrohe. The brochure describes the Company’s use of renewable energy, such as the Solar Power Plant which was built on the roof of the factory in Offenburg back in 1993. Advanced measures are also taken with electroplating and waste management to ensure minimal environmental impact.  In 2004, Hansgrohe was the first company within the sanitary sector to produce a Sustainability Report that charts the company’s performance across every aspect of managing the business, the surrounding environment, product design, production processes, and responsibility towards staff and the wider society.  This can be viewed and downloaded from the website at www.hansgrohe.com/sustainability.

The new EcoSmart brochure is attractive to read and the information is clearly presented making it easy to digest. There are even some general tips included on how to save water in the home.
